Nourish the Future’s Author Specialist Knowledge (ASK) Program brought experts into classrooms. Students learned more about the work of agriculture experts and their career pathways.
Each one hour session included a presentation of an industry expert's role, career story, work, or other topic of expertise. Students were provided with information ahead of time to research and develop questions for the presenter.
Teachers from schools across the country were able to hear from these industry experts:
- Dr. Martha Vaughan: mycotoxin contamination in grains
- Jason Lewis: sustainable ag research
- Tim Thompson: sustainable ag and herbicides
- Corey Schultz: how corn interacts with beneficial microbes
- Amber Lily Kenny: a USAID foreign service officer's career and experiences
- Zack Bateson: detecting pathogens in honey bees and food crops
